So, I posted last week about starting CICO. My SW is 230, GW is 200; I'm 5'10 and female. My daily calorie limit is 1778, as recommended by MyPlate to lose 1 lb. a week
Here's how I did with my first week! I can't get it to show my first day instead of today's 0 calories so far, but it was ~1500 cal.
I'm actually finding this pretty easy so far! The only day I actually went over (and only by a little bit!) is the second day when we ended up ordering pizza. Yesterday was pretty close, because I ate a lot of brunch knowing I wouldn't get to eat again until 6pm-ish, but I managed to stay under by having Greek salad with grilled chicken for dinner!
It seems my ideal strategy is to have a very light ~200 cal meal for breakfast and lunch, a late afternoon snack at ~150 cal, and then having like 1000 calories left to blow at dinner and bedtime since I don't have much control over dinner when my mom cooks for the family. When I eat more during the day, it's more out of boredom than hunger.
I do kind of find myself daydreaming about food from time to time, but it's usually pretty easy to just snap out of it because I can still eat all my favorite foods, unlike on keto. Gives me something to look forward to. :)
I haven't started an exercise routine yet because I'm still trying to get my body used to being at a calorie deficit before I go exercising in that state, but my plan is to start doing Yoga with Adrienne sometime this week or next.
Once I get the exercise routine down for a few weeks, and I'm used to being at a small calorie deficit, I'll probably turn the intensity up and go for 1.5 or 2 lbs. a week, but I don't want to make too many major lifestyle changes at once for fear my body will hate me.
Thanks for the support, y'all! I feel like this is a really huge accomplishment as I rarely have motivation to do anything. It's only the beginning of my journey but I wouldn't have gotten this far without this sub <3
