My realizations, your thoughts?

I’m posting this because I want to solidify the idea in my own head, as well as help others stop believing they are doing “everything” they think they are.

I FINALLY just gave up my pride and ignorance and took the “prove it” route and started counting everything that went into my mouth, for real this time.

The discoveries were absolutely incredible. And it feels SO GOOD to have data to backup what my efforts really are. Turns out years of doing everything “right” and counting on the weekdays means literally nothing if you don’t do it on the weekends. If you’re not counting calories you’re cheating yourself out of knowledge, progress, and satisfaction. I found this out the hard way. Weekends are the reason I stopped losing weight and getting faster (I’m in training).

So, if you just “believe” you’re counting most of what you eat, i firmly believe now it’s going to bite you in the end. If you don’t do it right, you may as well not do it at all.

Bonus: My reaction used to be “Jesus, weighing and counting EVERYTHING seems overkill.” But it’s not, it’s extremely important and really not that hard, believe me. You need a couple weeks of HONEST counting and you will see patterns no matter where you’re at on your journey. It gets easier, a couple weeks and your brain will start to take over and it kinda just becomes a reflex.

If you’re currently in the shoes I used to be in saying “that guy... what a nerd, he’s trying to hard” — I hope reading this will give you the motivation to JUST DO IT, no matter if it feels uncool or too much work.

The confidence found from relying on data cannot be overstated.
