I finally did it!

I have finally made it out of the obesity category for my BMI! I started this journey just at the beginning of May this year, weighing in at 285. I am a 17-year-old male 6 foot. My whole life I have struggled with my weight and have been obese for as long as I can remember. I got on the scale today and it showed 217. I'm not quite done yet, but guys, it is possible. I did CICO along with going to the gym every day and I stuck with it. I feel like a new person and have so much more confidence. I know there are not many young people on this subreddit, so feel free to ask me any questions.

Some things I did and recommend:

- use myfitnesspal - even if you use it at the beginning, it's so helpful to see how much you are eating each day.

- DON't set any long-term goals- only short-term.

- You don't need to eat veggies and only healthy food to lose weight. People are lying to you. Yes it's beneficial nutrition wise, but you can still have foods you like- just watch the portions. For ice cream, I had a skinny cow so much along with the occasional bryers "ice cream"

- Don't make excuses or let your family affect you. It was hard to do this especially as a child on top of having a morbidly obese mom, but you have to be stronger than your excuse.

- You have to have the right mindset. YOU have to want to change. No matter what anyone else says or recommends, it is up to YOU. Will is a skill!
