Why does losing weight require perfection?

I know this is going to be a bit of a vent, but it's something that's been frustrating me for years whenever I've tried to lose weight. I'm hoping the community here has some advice or suggestions or something, because I feel like losing weight is driving me insane.

A lot of advice is to "make small changes" and stuff like that, but I've already made so many of those changes and it hasn't changed anything. Stop drinking soda? I did that years ago. Eat more fruits and vegetables? I have greens at every dinner and eat plenty of fruit. I feel like I've already cut out a lot of the "low-hanging fruit" ideas that always seem to get posted when starting to eat better.

It sucks because so many people post how "you don't have to be perfect to lose weight," but I feel like I have to. If I am not on top of everything 24/7/365, then I'm going to gain weight.

Am I the only one that feels this way? Is there really a way to lose weight and not go crazy from the process?
