Tips for a college student trying to lose weight?

Hi all, I'm pretty new to this sub, so I'd love some tips to get started losing weight.

I'm a second year college student, and I definitely put on that freshman 15. I wasn't particularly healthy before college, but it's certainly gotten worse. Between trying to balance a new (And much heavier) workload and trying to learn how to cook healthy meals, something my family never taught me, it's been a struggle.

My biggest struggle has been managing my time when it comes to meals. Some nights I don't get home until very late, and it's so much easier to get fast food really quick or just throw some processed garbage in the microwave/oven for a quick meal. Some days I'd be so busy that dinner was the only meal I ate, and like I detailed above, it usually wasn't a healthy dinner either. In light of recent events I've been more motivated to change this and start to get healthy and lose weight.

If anyone has any tips for me including recipes, diets, or habits to get into I'd be really grateful. As a side note, I am mostly sedentary and if you would like to provide any workout tips keep in mind I unfortunately don't have time for very long or comprehensive workouts, espcially at a gym, but your advice is appreciated either way. Thanks everyone wish me luck on my journey!
