I have a new challenge that I’m going to do myself and I think others may be interested: Why not try going from Thanksgiving to Christmas on your ideal diet. The only rules being: No Alcohol, No Junk Food. The rest is up to you.
Personally, I’m trying full vegan with no alcohol. What is your “ideal diet”? Is it paleo? Whole 30? Why not, instead of ‘Whole 30’-ing it, sandwich a new diet between our most indulgent holiday’s in a way that makes sense for you. For social and work reasons, it works best for me starting tomorrow, after thanksgiving for 3 weeks 5 days, until December 20th- when I start my Christmas break.
Like many of you, I have been subscribed to this sub for a while because I’m always looking for some tips on how to lose weight. I’m not morbidly obese, but I have been struggling with my weight since childhood.
I think the “whole 30” is onto something in the sense that it’s an approachable way to ease into better habits. The key being “Only commit for 30 days, not the rest of your life”.
Knowing me, knowing the collective us, I suggest an even smaller period than 30 days, which I leave up for you to decide: The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, on the dates that work best for you. For me, I’m planning on starting this weekend - until I have time scheduled off work December 20th.
For many of us, Thanksgiving and Christmas are ubiquitous for being indulgent holiday’s. This uniquely makes this period of time, which many of us share in our routines, ideally easier from a anticipatory standpoint to try an unorthodox diet and routine.
Choose your ideal diet, choose the specific time-frame that works best for your life. But make it harder, make it different, and specifically: No alcohol, No junk food.
