I have high-ish resting heart rate in the mid 80s, however, when I exercise it regularly jumps up to the mid 190s and often hits 200. At this time, while I am exerting myself, I feel otherwise perfectly fine. I'm not in distress in anyway. I have been to a cardiologist and have had an EKG, stress test and echo cardiogram and they said my heart is perfectly healthy - I'm just someone with a naturally high HR when I exercise but it comes back down normally.
My question is - is this throwing off my calorie count from my heart rate monitor? I use a Polar chest strap while I do 30 min of cardio 3 times a week and 45 minutes of strength training also 3 times a week.
I burn about 300 calories on the elliptical and around 420 during the PT sessions regularly. The calories burned number is higher than what is on the machines or in MFP when I log in exercises. Usually, I hear about the machines being higher than accurate!
I googled but couldn't find an answer and hoping someone here can help. I want to make sure I am accurately logging calories.
