Looking to start going to the gym on top of my dieting

For the past month I've been keeping track of all my calories and cutting down on quite a bit along with ditching soda entirely. So far I've lost around 10 pounds or so and I'd like to start going to the gym to speed up the process a little and also build up some muscle.

I am a pretty big guy at the moment, I'd say probably around 340lbs at the moment, and I can do most cardio without problems or pain. Obviously I just can't run for very long but I'm looking for help mostly when it comes to weight lifting, because I honestly have no idea where I'd even begin.

Could anybody possibly give me some tips on what I should do exactly? Like as if I knew nothing about weight lifting at all, what would be the starting steps for finding out what to do without burning yourself out quickly in the beginning and hating life, while also making sure I work out most of my body 3-5 times a week for like 45-60 minutes
