I started my journey in July 2017, and made most progress in the first 6 months just doing CICO, little exercise and didn't change my diet much, just ate within my calories tracked using MFP, so considerably less, smaller portions etc.
After I hit 210lbs i became a bit complacent, convinced myself I had done so well and could afford to slack off a bit and maintained for about 6 months.
This last 4 months I've been tracking a little better, but still affording myself luxuries like nights out etc, before finally getting fully back on the wagon this last month and hitting my first goal!
Going forward, I think I'm going to seek some advice regarding body composition - I'm starting to see some abs in the mornings after a good day, so I'd like to continue losing to get real abs and lose the stubborn fat around my waist. However I'm worried about losing muscle in my chest and shoulders so I may start going on a bulk - time to say hello to r/gainit!
If anyone has any specific questions I'd be happy to help! It's a long journey but it is honestly the best thing I have ever done. If you're thinking about starting, don't think.
