Halloween candy vs self-control, and a masquerade ball

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself today for "breaking down" and eating some candy, while staying within my calorie goals and burning a ton of calories at the track this evening. "Old me" would absolutely have topped the evening off with hot pockets and a heaping bowl of the coffee almond fudge ice cream sitting in the freezer right now. Instead, here's a look at the six (fun size) candy bars and my evening walk/jog...

My FIL has a sweet tooth and literally has a dresser drawer in his spare room / office full of candy. Reese's, Snickers, Milkyway, Twix, KitKat, etc. Last year, I had to work from his house for a few days, and I was 360+ lbs at the time. I ate mountains of it. I ate enough that I felt like I needed to buy more just so it didn't look like I ate as much as I did.

I went over to visit this evening and he had two giant bowls of it sitting on his dining room table where we sat and visited. For the first 20 minutes, I didn't "take the bait" -- not that he was actively trying to get me to eat it -- but eventually I looked at my calories, and decided I could afford it. I'd be blowing my macros out of the water for the day, but I can tolerate a little "carb bloat" in my weigh-in tomorrow. So I had a mini Reese's. Then the Twix looked good. Then I saw PB Snickers thing I'd never tried. Then I sort of realized I wasn't going to have any room for dinner and I wasn't terribly hungry. So I had a few more - each a fun size candy, and each one different so that I could enjoy a nice variety.

My goal is to hit between 1200-1500 calories on average, though my MFP goal is 1700 calories for a 2lb/week deficit. I was well within my "hard limit" of 1700 calories but I had way more sugar/carbs today than normal and I was almost at 1600 calories for the day. So tonight I spent a little extra time at the track and did 1300 calories worth (according to MMR) of running/walking for a total deficit of over 2k calories -- an amount that is pretty close to my BMR.

While I was out there, I noticed my new (2 weeks old) windbreaker is feeling loose when it was fairly form fitting when I got it. And my running shorts weren't riding up my inner thighs. Having lost so much weight, and knowing I'll be another ~15lbs smaller by the end of the month, I find I'm really looking forward to the masquerade ball themed Christmas party for work next month. I'll be wearing a suit and a Phantom of the Opera mask, and I've been working from home for the last year so most of the people in the office haven't seen much of me since I started losing the weight. For a lot of them I'll be 100lbs smaller than the last time they saw me!
