Last year on November 9th, I made a post that I had lost 50 pounds. I was feeling a little down on myself - I had hoped to hit that goal by that June but wasn't able to make it happen. I made my post hoping to make myself feel better about the progress I had made, and one user, u/knitsnspins2 commented " Great Job. And 50 lbs a year sounds like a reasonable pace to me :-)" and that simple comment has stuck with me this last year! It was reasonable. 50 pounds a year until I reach my goal is AWESOME. It motivated me to lose another 50 within the following year - and I'm here to say I did it! A week early, even! One simple comment can dig itself in to someone's mind, for better or worse! I want to thank u/knitsnspins2 for giving me something that stuck with me in the best possible way.
I used CICO for the first year, gained back ten pounds, switch to keto in February of this year, and have officially lost over 100 pounds since I started my journey! I spent many months losing and regaining the same 10-20 pounds throughout the last two years, but that's ok. I had to learn the best way that I could be healthy. Trying new foods, eating schedules, restrictions, supplements - it took some trial and error, but we have to find what works best for us!
Last week I started an exercise class before work once per week, and I have gone to two classes so far. I am looking forward to getting in better shape! I am doing things I never thought I would. I never would have worked out in front of others before, woken up early to exercise before work, or been excited about either of those things!
The positive changes to my life have been overwhelming. I no longer feel anxious in public to the same degree, I can fly without a belt extender, I can shop at normal clothing stores, I can sit and stand comfortably, I can move around so much easier, I don't wake up with pain in my back and knees, I have more energy, I don't get sick as often, and most importantly, I have a healthy relationship with food for the first time in my life. I am so grateful to this sub for being a wonderfully welcoming and supportive place.
I don't really have a goal weight, I just plan on continuing to better myself until I reach a point I'm content with!
