Can we discuss the huge cost of losing weight?

Now, I'm super happy that I've lost 10lbs these past few months (and another 10 last year). Actually, I'm over the freaking moon! I'm happy that the scale is going down instead of up. Except, I'm a broke student and even with buying 90% of my clothes thrift, I'm running into a problem. Nothing fits me.

I had to replace every single piece of underwear. I'm no longer the same bra size.

My jeans were swimming on me. So, even if I go thrift (I'm also pretty short so finding the right size is insane).

I needed to buy jackets. Luckily I got a real leather jacket at a thrift store for $15, but it's all adding up! I need new winter clothes.

I need new shirts.

I have no more pajamas!

Since a lot of people who need to lose weight are lower income, I think it's important that we discuss meaningful ways to curb the cost. Of course, we can always upgrade one item at a time - but sometimes the weight comes off so fast that we're just left scratching our heads. Not to mention, if you work at a job that requires you to wear business casual or formal, you're going to need to replace this more often.

Whenever I discuss this problem with people I get one of two reactions. 1) Oh my god I know (or) 2.) But it's so great you're losing weight!

Yes, it is great... but I'm just struggling to afford keeping up. I do buy almost all I can thrift, second-hand, or even get some clothes from friends. I'm not starving levels of poor, but some people are... and that's another huge cost for people who are already struggling day to day.

I suggest people sell off any of their nice bigger clothes, and don't keep them in your closet. Consignment is amazing (and a life-saver too). Even if you have to use ebay for some nicer stuff like coats.

Most of all - don't get discouraged!
