Hi there, a little bit about me. I drink up to 3-5 liters of Diet Coke a day. I don't eat terribly, but could eat better, and I almost never exercise apart from being on my feet all day at work. I've read the quick start guide and other guides but my problem remains the same, I can't stick to hard and fast rules.
My main concern is my addiction to Diet Coke, and the fact that I can't seem to kick the habit. I've tried reducing intake slowly and cold turkey seems impossible because even if I miss a day without soda, I get terribly lethargic and have wretched headaches. What's the key here? Even though it's diet soda, is it the caffeine withdrawals mainly that are killing me? Also what kind of effects would drinking 3-5 liters of Diet Coke a day have on the body (for curiosity's sake)?
In addition to my soda problems, I want to eat better, but I have no idea how to cook for myself (I still live at home and my parents stock the house with bad food that I just shove on down)! I want to learn how to cook better foods and know how to stick to eating better. Maybe a cook book geared towards for beginners trying to lose weight?
Lastly, I hate exercise. In middle and high school, I used to swim competitively anywhere from two to four hours a day between practices and meets, with maybe day or two off a week. I love swimming (can't feel the sweat) but after being away from it for a few years, it's difficult. I've tried doing exercise out of water but I HATE the discomfort and sweating associated with it. I want to exercise for all the benefits, but I have no idea what would fit me.
Of course there's the problem of once I try to start doing better I cannot stick to it. What should I do to maintain consistent healthy habits?
