I feel the need to share this here, as this is where I got the info to get started.
I started cico (calories in vs calories out) a little over a month ago based off of some posts I saw on this sub, and am happy to report that even with some mess ups and cheat days, I'm down 15lbs so far out of 60 I need to lose for health reasons. I'm so grateful to have finally found a place to get real advice and hear real stories. It was getting old to hear "diet and exercise" with absolutely no elaboration on what, when, and how much to eat/do.
On to the NSV: Yesterday I bought my first pair of over-the-knee boots. I know it might not sound like much but just having the confidence to try them on; and then to have them FIT over my thighs, was amazing! I have been wanting a pair for years but never imagined I'd get my thighs into them.
So thank you to all of you who come here and share your successes, and your struggles. If anyone is looking into starting cico I would recommend finding your BMR as well as your BMI and tracking everything you eat. I downloaded the app Loseit and it has helped me with the tracking, and I bought a food scale to properly calculate my serving sizes.
Best of luck to everyone on their journeys! Mine is far from over, but I will continue to use this sub as inspiration to keep moving forward.
