Hey /r/loseit I've tried for years to drop my weight. It started off only wanting to lose 20lbs~ but I ended up yo-yoing up and constantly told myself "nah you're fine. It's not that bad".

Spoiler: It is.

My heaviest weight was around 22 stone (308lbs /140kg). I'm currently at 128.5kg, so I'm down 11.5kg(25lbs~). I want to be down to about 14 stone meaning from my heaviest I have 8 stone(112lbs/51kg) to lose. I'm actually tracking my weight in kg purely because 51kg sounds better to lose than 112kg lol..

I'm 6"3, recently turned 23 and am ready to turn my life around. My brother is a personal trainer, his fiancé is a nutritionist so I've received brilliant advice from them, but wanted to stop just being just a lurker and join in the community built here.

I'm planning on calories in vs out as I'm very much a purist type person that likes knowing how / why things work and the specific numbers behind it all.

I've made a few tweaks to my lifestyle such as cutting down takeaways and making sure I'm eating at least 1 proper home cooked meal a day and have scheduled more chances to come in incrementally over the following weeks so I can baby step into it.

The only real thing I'm struggling with is finding out my BMR as many sites (I know they're aproximates) give fairly drastically different results so I dont know where to go for that..

Any advice or support is greatly appreciated and I'm excited to post progress pictures!

Nb; sorry for the rant type post, i feel like I had a lot to get off my chest
