I hope these tips might help you (although some might already be mentioned) I'm 29 and weigh around 65 kilo's at 1,80m. I eat a lot, but rarely gain weight.
Here are some of the things I do.
-
I always start with a tiny bit of morning gymnastics. I never try to complete a set or do an X amount. I try to improve on yesterday. It takes five minutes tops, helps get my body warmed up and it's easy to do. I normally do five different exercises twice. My goal is to slowly expand on these until I can keep going for 15 minutes.
-
Breakfast is always yoghurt with fruit (banana in my case), walnuts and muesli (don't know if that's the correct English word). People might get bored of it but it keeps me going, is easy to eat in the morning, isn't too expensive and doesn't take long to make.
-
I only drink tea or water. Soft drinks are for when I'm at someone's place or when I go out.
-
I cycle a lot. I know this strongly depends on the country but if you can find a way to incorporate something like this in your daily life it'll make a huge difference. I teach music and often visit the students at their home. I ride my bike for around 120km's a week, so it's an extra exercise.
-
When I get home I am not allowed to sit on my couch. I either sit on a chair or stool where I can't lean. This makes me more productive and prevents me from getting in to the mood for candy.
-
I do eat candy, but I buy it once and when it's gone I can't buy it again that week. This is still a work in progress as I tend to eat a ton of candy whenever I buy it. But not buying it at all makes this a lot easier. Also never go grocery shopping when hungry.
-
I almost always cook my meals. I'm really lazy when it comes to eat so eating canned beans/corn/etc is easy. Tortilla's are my go to food. It takes less than 15 minutes and it's healthy.
-
Last but not least I don't count calories nor am I concerned with food. I just try to keep a certain routine and lower the bar enough that I can keep on living that way. Nowadays it doesn't feel as hard, and I still have bad days where I eat too much candy but I always try to keep looking at the positively.
I might add more if people find this helpful. Some of these things just happened, with other tips I made a conscious effort to stay healthy.
