I just went back to work after maternity leave and am nearly at my goal weight (5-10 lbs) doing CICO and a lot of exercise (5-7 days a week). I am worried about getting complacent at work and letting that desk job creep the pounds back on.
Problem? I am starving since going back to work. In the morning I wake up with a growling stomach and am hungry all day. It's weird because I thought I would have been hungrier on mat leave, where I was nursing more and moving around all day.
I work out almost every day at lunch for 45 mins or so, mostly weight training HIIT style and sometimes running. I walk to work and drop off my baby at daycare on the way but I am less active than when I was on mat leave. I work 8-5 ish and then sometimes also at home after my baby goes to bed. I am in bed 7 ish hours a night and get up once to nurse. Not sure how much actual sleep. I know everyone is but I am so tired.
I'm 5'2". My deficit calorie goal has been 1400-1500 for the last 6 months, but I have been eating closer to 1800-2000 lately. I am maintaining weight (losing a tiny bit maybe, 1/4 lb a week or less) but if I eat less I am truly miserable and exhausted. I do about 50/25/25 carbs fat protein. I bring all my own food from home but am so hungry. I feel I fight willpower all day with cafes surrounding my office when I run out of food.
Does anyone else have this problem with a desk job? I am worried about eating my stress and exhaustion back to where I started.
Is it boredom? Stress? Actual hunger? Did anyone have to change their habits significantly at a desk job? Any tips? Eat more frequently? Less frequently? Not at my desk?
I thought I had this figured out but now the game's changed yet again.
