Holiday Edition

Today is Thanksgiving in the USA. It's a holiday known for turkey dinners with your family and friends.

It's also the single biggest race day in the US. There's tons of little Turkey Trots and Gobble Fun Runs in towns large and small. Here in Portland Oregon, there's more than 10 different events in the metro area.

What are your plans for today?

You don't need to have a race to get out there and run. If you are just starting out, maybe try kicking off /r/C25K today. Just want to be active, try a 30 minute walk.

Running today doesn't give free pass!

You should run or walk today. Being active is an great thing for your body and fitness. But it isn't an excuse to have a cheat day.

Running or walking a 5K is about 250-450 calories, depending on your weight and fitness. A 10K about 500-900 calories. Log your calories and plan to eat to your budget. Thanksgiving spreads are full of lean and low calorie choices.
