Nearing goal weight/hunger increase

So I’m currently at the lowest weight I’ve been in well over a decade. Quite possibly longer. I’ve lost maybe 27-28 lbs (25 officially, but I was afraid to weigh myself the first week or two back in April when I first began).

I’m now in the high medium range of my BMI and would like to lose about 10 more lbs, I’m guessing. I know where they live! :P Basically I’d like to be five-nine (well, that’s not gonna change I guess) and around 145 lbs or so. My gosh, I haven’t weighed that little since high school, but that’s about mid range of my BMI. Oh, and since I rarely use my laptop, you can safely ignore whatever my flair might currently be, sorry about that.

Anyway, thanks to IF and six months of practice, I now have hunger tolerance. Thing is, as I get into this new weight range, my hunger is increasing substantially. I mean, I’m freaking hungry, a lot of the time! This is on a 400-500 cal/day deficit! I really haven’t been going any faster or harder than that. But even with trying to only keep a 500 cal/day deficit, it’s getting more challenging to dial in “okay, what am I going to feed myself today and staying within my calorie goals.” Some days I end up around maintenance. Last week I went over without guilt, because my body clearly needed some re-feeding and that was fine. It was actually super cool to be able to really sit with intense hunger for a day or so, then decide “Okay, my body needs a full day of eating a lot more,” then gobbled down a breakfast burrito, an iced blended and four pieces of pizza...enjoyed it, felt done with all that, and then got back to my usual routine effortlessly and without guilt. That experience alone was really valuable.

To be honest, part of it may be an increase in carbs over when I first started. I’ve been vegetarian since the late 80’s and that ain’t gonna change, and I have to make my dietary choices sustainable. I eat more healthy fats than I used to, and overall my diet is fairly clean....but yeah, I’m gonna be having some carbs here and there.

But I also think my body is sending out the signal of, “We’re getting kinda low in weight here, wouldn’t you like to eat some more?” I think I read someone on here talking about it takes your body a few months to get used to it, including its new hormonal levels.

Anyway, I’d love it if people who’ve experienced this would talk about their experiences and what they learned.

Oh, and if this helps, I’m lightly to moderately active. I’m actually not exercising a whole lot because it increases my appetite so much. I’m doing core and mild weights several days per week, and I walk everywhere. Almost 50 year old female.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions!
