Hi there, I'm new, forgive me if this is pretty obvious to you guys but I've read that what matters to lose weight is how many calories you eat in a week. What I'd like to know is whether this week must start on Monday and end on Sunday? Or can it start on Tuesday and end on Monday?
I ask this because this past week I've been eating much less than normal each day except Sunday, when I usually go out to have a big dinner with my brother. So let's say I am in a calorie deficit from Monday to Saturday and then on Sunday I eat a whole pizza. Would this automatically mean that my week was a waste because I ate back those calories on Sunday? That staying in a deficit from Monday to Saturday was for nothing? Or can the week start on Tuesday so that then I can consume fewer calories on Monday to compensate (like I did last Monday)? Does our body always "reset" on Monday? If so please explain how our bodies can detect the day of the week as I haven't found anything online about this.
What I've found for example is people saying that they eat at a maintenance level from Monday to Saturday, and then on Sunday barely eat anything at all, therefore ending the week at a deficit (therefore losing weight) and on Monday their bodies are reset. But would the opposite apply? Being in a deficit except for Sunday, compensate on Monday, and then reset on Tuesday? I don't want to give up my Sundays eating out with brother and we can't meet on Saturday or any other day of the week except Sunday.
I hope you guys can understand what I mean, and thanks in advance!
