Long winded post ahead. Sorry in advance.
I'm 18 years old, 5'8, 215lbs. I mainly want to lose weight and gain some muscle (just a healthy amount, nothing crazy). My goal is to get down to at least 160lbs. I've already downloaded a calorie tracker and already have some doubt.
My main problem is that I usually eat too much because I'm bored. If I'm busy, I never even think about touching food. I'm likely starting a job this weekend, which will help keep me busy, but I want to actively try to create a better diet. I want to quit sodas completely, maybe save a mocha for the morning, and start some form of exercise. I was thinking that I could start walking from my home to the river every day, which is about a 2.4 mile walk in total (back and forth). I don't want some sort of special exercise/diet regime. I just want to be healthy. I was also thinking about writing in my journal to help quell my doubts and keep me on track.
Any advice? I feel like such an ass for trying this, but I know it's for the best.
