Hi r/loseit, today is the day I decided to stop putting off my break from my journey to a healthier lifestyle.
I've been overweight pretty much my entire life, (I'm 22) and whilst it has always slightly bothered me, I never felt bothered by it enough to do something about it. 2 years ago in my second year of uni I really started to try, i first used Myfitnesspal then, started dieting and upped my gym game, and I really enjoyed it for the first 5 months, but I didnt really seem to see much improvement and as my exams got closer and closer i gave up the dieting, but still kept up healthier habits.
In my third year I upped my dieting and exercise but didnt use the app as i just didnt want to spend my life calorie counting. I managed to lose a stone from 16st to 15st after about 3 months but then i just seemed to stay at 15. Now since August I've come back home and had so much stress with sorting out my house and job and such a massive change of routine made me put healthier living to the back burner, but after weighing myself yesterday at 15 1/2 stone, and seeing so many inspirational stories on here since i joined last week, i thought enough is enough and I want to get back on track.
I decided getting myfitnesspal up and running again would be important, because i now do really want to track my intake, and improve on some of my habits. Now the tricky thing here is, i like to bake, i love it, its such a fun hobby for me, not to even eat things myself, as i dont really have a sweet tooth, but seeing the look on other peoples faces when they really enjoy something made is fantastic and I dont want to give it up. But you know, i'm always gonna try a bit of what i make to see how well I've done, but how do I really track that on the app? Is it as simple of making a "meal" with all the ingredients and selecting a portion of it? Also I made homemade bread rolls this weekend and as they are different sizes I have no clue how i would track having one of them?
I might be over analysing it too much but any help or advice on how you guys input homemade things into the app would be great!
