Hey everyone, title says it all. I've searched this subreddit looking for some answers and I think I need some reiteration or help understanding where I'm going wrong. I'm at my breaking point currently -- I'm not giving in and going to continue following CICO but I'm starting to become worried it's not working and i'm not entirely sure why.
I started CICO 51 days ago. My daily allotment they've granted me is 1860 -- my TDEE is 2253 and my BMR is 1959. I've set MFP to lose one pound a week. In these 51 days I've lost a total of four pounds -- sometimes fluctuating nearly to my starting weight.
I'm weighing myself at the same time every day. I log my weight at the same time and same day once a week.
I'm using a scale -- calculating the oz and grams of everything I'm eating.
I'm staying well below 1860 -- my average day consists between 1200 to 1400 calories.
My macros are nearly on point every day -- give or take a few percentage points. I'm also hitting all my nutrient goals, staying well below sugar. Salt, on some days, is over the limit but never too outrageous.
I don't drink soda, juice or liquor. I'm not consuming any "empty" calories aside from two tablespoons of creamer in my coffee each morning which amounts to 70 calories.
I can't add activity -- I have muscular dystrophy and the only exercise I can do is aqua, my spouse works full time and it's difficult to get out to the Y through the week. Also, after every exercise I need to rest for two to three days because of muscle exhaustion -- exercise can make my body worse. I also have major atrophy of the abdomen, thighs and upper arms that has "fatty infiltrate" because of the disease -- I have massive inflammatory markers and high T-cell activity, in turn.
I am on Prednisone which is a corticosteriod -- I'm wondering if the increase of cortisol is hindering my progress. I can't get off this medication because it's to help my muscles retain what mass they have left and increase strength. My dose is relatively low though -- 10 mg a day.
I get regular blood work done because of my illness. I've gone through the reports and I have nothing indicating hypothyroidism. My metabolic rate is in the normal range.
Any help or advice? I'm not sure where to go from here.
