Finally at a normal BMI, freshman 15 has nothing on me!

Well, finally doing it! After years of wanting and trying and failing, I’m actually doing it!

Simply put, I’ve started my first year of college, and between finally being a single legal adult, and being told horror stories from my mom of how she gain 70 pounds in her first year of college, I was able to take control of my life somewhat and on my way to a body I don’t feel the need to roast constantly!

I downloaded MyFitnessPal, set my calorie goal to 1200, and to keep myself going, I drew a picture of myself(depicted as a dumb ass bird), that I made sure to update, with a mantra that, surprisingly, really helped. “Move more, Eat less!”

First two weeks were absolutely awful, not going to lie. Rather than take the usual “eat a bunch of healthy food like a normal person” route, I took more of a “eat absolute junk, however under your calorie limit”. And yes, my bowels suffered the consequences, but the craving were worse. I sort of accepted that I needed to be miserable if I wanted to eat absolute crap but also lose weight, while also taking multivitamins to ensure my body wasn’t totally deteriorating, as well as a weight scale and food scale off of Amazon.

So, I was eating less, as for moving more, that mostly was mostly just tweaking my daily routine. Avoiding elevators like the plague, making walks with my dog longer and somewhat more frequent(to the joy of my dog), and going to the campus pool for some light swimming now and again.

Eventually, it all became easier, maybe it was stress, or maybe it was my body adjusting to the new amount I was eating, but I simply became less and less hungry. The past week there have been days where, if I don’t consciously remind myself, I may end up just not eating. A complete 180 from the dreaded boredom eating I had to force myself not to do.

At this rate, I should be at around my goal weight in about 2 more months, so take my word for it, it gets easier.
