Day one! Help me keep myself honest!

I've been getting progressively more out of shape for a couple years now (I'm sure some of you can relate), and I've been trying to get started on getting back into shape for a while now. Every time I try I basically rubber band from a few days of healthy eating into an embarrassing binge. Which is exactly why I'm posting here. I want everyone to see where I am and know that someone is holding me accountable. Without further ado, some statistics:

Height: 5'6"/ 168 cm

Weight: ~229 lbs/104 kg

Body fat: 33%

Goals:

Weight 170 lbs/77 kg

Body fat ~11-13%

As you can see, I'm not in great shape. Just running a mile is a lot of work right now. I used to be a pretty damn good track athlete, so being where I am now is pretty rough on me. I recently had a body weight scan at some training I do with my brother and found out that I'm at 33% body fat and it kind of raised the level of urgency about getting started.

More importantly, what am I doing to remedy the situation?

Eat less, and eat healthy. Pretty self explanatory.

Be consistent at the gym. Don't skip cardio. Or flexibility, that matters too.

No sweets, and no eating in the middle of the night. This is my one true mortal enemy.
