Close to an anxiety attack by shopping with a friend

I'm one week away from the 5 months mark in to my weightloss/health journey and I've lost 12 kg. Yesterday I bought straight size jeans for the first time in 7 or 8 years, crazy feeling.

I told a friend that i needed new pants for this party we're going to and she told me to try on these jeans from this store which is a store with only straight sizes. In my mind it was total confusion so all I was thinking was; you really think I'm going to fit in to those I'm like double the size of you (apparently we are the same size), those pants are for skinny people, you're probably just saying that to be nice etc). Almost triggered an anxiety attack from the feeling of a friend being in a store with me trying on clothes. What if they don't fit, then she's going to know that I'm overweight, crazy thought. Shopping is something that I have kept very private business all these years.

Is this normal? To be this unsure about your own weightloss even though you see it on the scale, your old clothes, and your measurements and by photos? My friend even had to stand next to me and put our legs next to each other to show that they were the same size..
