I'm 2 weeks into my new diet and having a ton of problems. I'm currently trying to eat 1500 calories a day. I can usually make it pretty close to that, but I'm having low blood sugar almost constantly, every day. I've adjusted my basal rate every single day lower and I'm still low every single day, for up to 6 hours or longer. It's putting me over my calories for the day consistently, because I keep having to have juice and snacks just so I don't lose consciousness.
I have almost no energy and I fall asleep by 8 p.m. every day because I just can't stay awake. My whole life I've been comfortable staying up for 20 hours at a time. The days when I ended up over my calorie goal that MyFitnessPal calculated for me, were the only days that I had enough energy to make it more than 12-14 hours awake.
I know that this is going to be a transition, I used to eat a very high carb diet, even though I wasn't eating a lot of meals throughout the day. I'm eating pretty low carb now, but I'm just exhausted constantly, low constantly, and all my adjustments don't seem to be getting me anywhere. It's been two weeks on this diet. I have freestyle Libre monitor and I'm on a pump. I track every single calorie and carb with MyFitnessPal... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Is it supposed to be like this? Does anyone have any advice?
I'm not very active because I was in an accident last year and broke my ankle knee and hip on the same side, so I don't have a lot of exercises that aren't painful for me. I'm going for an extended walk about twice a week, maybe 45 minutes long. It's more activity than usual because I just added it to my regular schedule. I just walk downtown to a coffee shop and then walk home afterward. I can go slow but even that is kind of pushing it, so I'm really trying to focus on my diet as a solution.
5 ft 9, 265lbs, avg basal currently 47u/day, down from 55 2 weeks ago. Carb ratio ~5c/u.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: sorry for the title Gore, I'm on mobile and have low blood sugar so i'm doing my best lol
