I have a cousin who is very close in age to me (less than a year). For as long as I can remember, our family has compared us and our accomplishments and I always seem to come up short. Like most of our family, she's significantly overweight. So although it's not the main or first reason I have for losing, there's definitely a part of me that's motivated by the idea of showing up to Thanksgiving and Christmas this year 50 pounds down (fingers crossed - I'm currently just over 40lbs down and losing about 2lbs/week) and looking way better than her. I'm even planning to go shopping for a new outfit for Thanksgiving that actually fits me well to maximize my showing off. I haven't seen most of my family since last year, and I feel like I look significantly different - and other people are starting to comment on it! I love how I look now for a lot of reasons, but I would be lying if I didn't see it as a little bit of a competition I'm having with my cousin.
What's your reason for losing that you can't admit because of how petty it is?
