31- Female here. No kids. 225 lbs. I would love to be 180. I’m concerned that I haven’t lost weight over the last two-three years. I need some advice on finding the right professional(s)/tests to check in on my weight and potential issues that are preventing me from losing weight. I need to know what you might have discovered in your journey that could help! I am so thankful for your suggestions.

My last doctors visit: I tried discussing my diet and exercise with my last doctor and she jumped to potentially having stomach surgery without running anything more than a basic blood test. This had me concerned. According to all the basic info I’ve received from doctors and nurses in this time, I have healthy cholesterol levels (both kinds), good blood pressure, and I only get sick maybe once a year. I’d rather live a balanced life or try other methods before gastric surgery. I feel like I’m pretty conscious of my choices and it’s hard to feel like I’m barely maintaining with the effort I put in currently.

Basic life habits for the last two-three years: *Breakfast consist of two eggs, sometimes toast/tortilla, sometimes cheese/veg. *Lunch is usually a combo of protein and veg homemade leftovers or a salad from a local cafe. *I do snack occasionally in the afternoon. Anything from fruit, crackers, nuts, dark chocolate, and yes once in awhile cookies or chips. *Weekday dinners my spouse and I make a protein and full serving of veg and try not to have carbs. We are successful about 90% give or take family dinner or date night restaurant. We cook homemade food about 85% of the time. Weekend dinners vary between going out and staying in. I tend to eat half and take half home. *Beverages: water on hand at all times, tea without sugar or sweeteners, non sweetened waters like lacroix, coffee with 1 Splenda and coco almond milk. I have a soda about once every 2 weeks, they are just overwhelmingly sweet to me. *Alcohol: I have about 0-2 drinks/week, beer or a cocktail. I’m a lightweight and alcohol affects me pretty quick.

Additionally, my spouse and I have been doing intermittent fasting for the last three months five days a week. I am doing 15 hour fast on those days.

Weekly exercise: *During hot months I swim laps/water aerobics once a week *Two days a week yoga class (moderate level) *1-2 days a week walking outside/treadmill for 30-40 minutes *During cooler months I do kickboxing cardio (H.I.I.T style) class once a week *My job is 80% sitting at a desk. *My goal is to add in a day of weights and a bike ride (30-40 minutes) once a week.

I sleep about 7 hours per night, pretty consistently.

Before these last few years I was in college and biking 2-6 miles every day to class and working out with my roomies 2 times a week. My weight rose from 190 to 200 during this.

I am looking forward to answering any other questions or hearing your stories and suggestions. Thank you again so much.
