500lb dude here. my ankles have been getting swollen over the years, and it's finally a problem. some of my vericose veins have started to hurt. i know walking helps it go down, for the next 12 hours. but sitting at work all day just fills them right up.
doing some googling i found compression socks or stockings can help. so looking around, what are good ones to try?
WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR
looking on amazon, i found lots of them list recomended size according to calf and ankle size. measuring, my calf was 24" around, XXL size it was. i got a set of knee high stockings and set of socks
stockings https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GTF7TLK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
socks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CPKM7WG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
as soon as i got them, i realized the problem. with the sock ones, i will probably wear through something first before it all fails. i think i will be more glad to have the stockings so i can use them with whatever socks.
i'm worried that i will stretch these out so i will have to buy a new pair every month, or something.
QUESTIONS
how often should i wear these. i get the most swollen at work, but i might get funny looks wearing them. can i wear them for all 15 hours i'm not at work? is that too much? is there anything i can do to prevent the top from stretching out and them just falling down my calf? what things have other people tried?
while putting on a sock or stocking is easier, in the long run, it might be better if i could warp each calf in a re-usable velcro elastic wrap every day. if it gets looser, i can just pull a little tighter. but then i maybe get stupid and put them on too tight, i don't know.
