Losing 2lbs a week - how do you do it?!

I appreciate this is hugely dependant on your starting weight, height, gender and a million different factors but I'm really interested in hearing your stories!

I regularly read about 2lb per week losses but they seem impossible for me. Online calculators suggest I would need to drop to around 1000 calories a day to achieve this, 1200 if I work out, and even though I stick to the latter it just doesn't happen! My average loss at the moment is 1lb per week at the most.

So...for those of you who manage 2lbs a week, what are your stats, how many calories do you stick to, and can you give any further tips on how to get closer to that kind of loss?
