Hey there, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 2 years ago. I wasn't put on meds and have maintained with diet control. I dropped 30 pounds within the first few months and have kept it off, but I am not where I want to be. I still want to drop 50 more. I keep hearing about the Keto Diet, but I haven't found anything definitive in how to crunch the numbers on this diet. I also can't find any definitive info on the effects of the Keto Diet in type two diabetes. Some sources say it may help with blood sugar, some say inconclusive.
I want to try the diet to drop weight, but I don't want it to frig up my blood glucose readings.
Are there any Type 2 Diabetics that have tried this diet? Have you had success with it? What should I be aware of if I do decide to try it? How exactly do you follow the Keto Diet?
Thanks in advance!
