I did keto for a bit and lost about 55 pounds pretty fast. A few years ago, I lost over 100 pounds with diet change and working out, but it took well over a year. This time around with keto, I wasn’t medically cleared to work out and the first 50 pounds I lost with just tracking and weighing everything that went in my mouth.
Given the holidays are coming back up, I’ve been back on keto the last few days but I’m wondering if I should do keto route again or just shed weight the “normal” way. My keto macros look like this: P: 80 F: 85 C: 25 which comes out to 1,190 calories. With the IIFYM route, it looks like P: 114g F: 74g C:95g which comes out to 1493 calories, sedentary (I’m not medically cleared to work out.)
Now, right now I’m working on 20g of carbs and it’s been a struggle. Earlier this year it was no problem because there was nothing going on. This time around, we’ve had birthday parties and I’m struggling because I find myself so hungry at true end of the day. 1,190 calories seems so low, BUT I do have fat to lose. I’m 159 pounds on a 5’2” frame, so I’m not going without and my body could stand to probably starve some haha. I’ve also been utilizing 16:8 fasting. I used to fast 20/4, but I need to work my way back up. I do have some medical issues recently and just had surgery.
I have 30 pounds to lose and I was trying to do it “fast”. My 10 year reunion for high school is in May and I want to “wow”. I was the fat girl in high school (200+ pounds + very short). I’ve come a long way but still have some ways to go. I can be very disciplined in terms of tracking and weighing, but sometimes I get so hungry I binge eat. Like I get massive cravings, I just ate 24 dark chocolate chocolate chips. It wasn’t a huge dent in my macros and I made it work, but I had to cut things out later for dinner. I plan out my entire day in meals first thing when I wake up so that I am held accountable and it keeps me on track. I think I would like to do IIFYM. It gives me more carbs to work with and I’m still under 100. If I choose to do this route, do you think it’s possible to lose 30 pounds by May?
