DEXA scan picture: 51% body fat, 87.2 lbs of fat on me

I did a DEXA scan today and I am very shocked about the result. It seems I have so much fat on my body, more than I realized. Has anyone else done this scan and used it for a baseline to monitor progress?

Take a look at MY SCAN IMAGE with all my blubber highlighted in yellow (never mind the right arm it has an injury so it looked weird on the scan). You can see all the yellow on my abdomen, this is deep tissue fat in-between my internal organs. The nurse said this is not fat I can pinch, it it literally deep inside me growing (existing?) in and around my liver and gallbladder and kidneys and stomach. For good measure she mentioned I have fatty tissue all around my uterus and vag. Damn!

I am 36, female, 5 ft 7. I didn't really know what to expect going into the scan, but I wanted more clarity on how far I had let myself go. 3 years ago I weighed 127 lbs and had 25% body fat. The results of the scan are a huge wake up call.

I learned that my resting metabolic rate is "1,205 cal/day". When adding my daily activities I think my daily calorie expenditure is around 1500.

I have started eating Keto with 10% carbs, 40% fat and 50% protein. I am taking in 1000 calories per day. In light of my 51% body fat, is this the correct approach?

Am I doing the right thing for my body type? This image is disturbing and also motivating. Now what the hell should I do about it?
