In the 10 years since I graduated high school, I gained 51lbs and gone from a size 10 to a size 16! I didn't like the way I looked, and I had an unhealthy relationship with food. After trying to eat less desserts, cut out sugar, exercise more, etc, I finally realized in May of 2017 that I had to try CICO as nothing else was helping me in a sustainable way.
Now, 17.5 months later I reached my original goal weight of 41lbs lost, and as I've lost weight I've realized that I'd like to go about 10lbs lower than that. So today in order to encourage myself, I took some less traditional before and after photos. I've been losing weight for a year and a half, so putting together meals for how I used to eat was hard, but it made me realize just how much I was eating.
The biggest difference isn't in what I eat, as I ate fairly healthy and mostly homemade food before. I do eat less bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes, and I eat a lot more vegetables. I still cook almost all of my own food, but now I keep track of the calories by weighing each ingredient, calculating the calories, and logging the calorie amount in an excel doc. That won't work for everyone, but I have to cook most of my food anyway due to dietary restrictions, so it works for me. Sorry for the bad quality photos; I had to use my phone as my camera isn't working.
