An hour gym routine that is focused just on losing weight/fat?

I know this is probably a very frequently asked question, but I am a compete newcomer to the gym and really all of this stuff. I am a freshman university student and since the start of the semester I have noticeably gained weight despite already being very overweight, and I really want to lose a decent amount before it starts getting warm again. The gym is about a ~20 minute walk from my dorm, so I was wondering if any fellow college students have any recommendations for a short-ish gym routine that I can fit into my schedule that is focused on becoming skinnier. Any advice about how to maintain a good diet in college is also appreciated. I have been very fat my whole life and I just want to be happy about my body for once this spring/summer.
